Fontana Assembly

NOTICE FOR SAFE USE: MUST FILL UNIT WITH POTABLE WATER. This system does not contain any filtration or purification device. While bladder (bag) seals are unbroken, the bladder is food grade safe. All fittings, hoses, and attachments must be flushed and sanitized prior to each use. Bladder is not certified for reuse and must be replaced with a new, sealed bladder before the unit is refilled.

Step 1: Position Straps & Box

Thread each of the four straps through the holes in the sides of the pallet. Two straps per direction.

Place opened box on pallet. Note the direction of the dispense hole.

Step 2: Prepare Bag Cassette

Open the cassette (do not use a knife to avoid damage to bag). Place the cassette on top of the box and orient so that the dispense valve faces the same direction as the dispense hole on the side of the box.

Step 3: Connect Fill Fittings

Break the seal on the top fill fitting of the bag and remove the cap. Keep the cap for replacement after fill. Attach the 3/4 inch fill adapter or the appropriate NPT type adapter for the filling equipment used. Important: Attach the fill hose now.

Step 4: Position Cassette in Box

Place the cassette into the bottom of the box by slightly folding the cassette closed. Important: Check that the dispense valve side of the cassette (circled, top image) is matched to the dispense hole side of the box (circled, bottom image).

Step 5: Fill and Close Bag

Begin filling bag. The bag is full when the top edge of the bag’s fill fitting is level with the triangular flaps that span the top edge of the box. Remove the adapter fitting and replace the cap on the bag’s fill fitting.

Step 6: Cover Box

Cover the unit with the protective plastic shroud.

Step 7: Assemble Box Lid

Assemble the lid by folding the edges so that the curved corner flaps fold into the side flaps and lock. Place the lid on the unit over the plastic shroud.

Step 8: Secure Straps

Wrap the straps over the top of the unit and thread the Velcro end through the loop at the other end of the strap. Tighten and attach the Velcro to secure the strap.

Appendix B: Unit Handling Instructions

Unfilled Units

  • Unfilled units and cassettes should be stored in a clean, dry, sunlight-protected location and in temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius).
  • If the bladder seals are found to be damaged or removed prior to use, bladder should not be used.

Filled Units

  • Purity of Contents: This unit does not filter its contents. If the contents should become contaminated or suspected to have contamination, drain unit and replace bladder before continuing use.
  • Handling: Units should be moved or positioned using a forklift, pallet jack, or similar equipment. Filled units should not be moved by pressing on the side of a box.
  • Stacking: Filled units may be stacked two high when using a reinforced, non-nesting pallet on stable ground. Stack must be neat (without overhang) to prevent instability. Do not stack units with nesting pallets. For questions regarding safe stacking, please contact Caylym. Example pallet types shown below.
Non-nesting Pallets
Nesting Pallets
  • Usage Environment: Filled units for immediate use should be stored in a clean and dry location where dispense attachments are protected from contamination and at temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius).
  • Transporting: If transporting a unit in a vehicle, each unit must be individually secured to the vehicle in accordance with any safe transport standards specific to the vehicle for any liquid-containing cargo of similar size and weight (filled weight approx. 2400 lbs). Consult appropriate vehicle’s manual. Important: Restraining straps should NOT be placed around the side walls of unit to avoid side compression failure of the box. Restraining straps may be placed over the top of a unit.
  • Storage: If a filled unit is to be stored for an extended period of time (greater than a week), the unit should be kept in a clean, dry, sunlight-protected location where the dispense valve area is protected from contamination and at temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius).
  • Reuse: Excluding the bladder, the unit may be safely reused if the box, pallet, and straps remain free of structural damage or significant moisture contact. Examine each unit for damage before reuse. For case specific questions regarding safe reuse, please contact Caylym
